For Jerky (X & Y) …
As promised, here’s a preview of the X and Y Wing models. I’m still not sure if the X Wing has too many lines? These are rendered using the hidden line routine. It’s quite handy for the Y wing as I can make certain parts see through like cockpits, and the Y Wing engines. The hidden line routine makes it easier to recognise the objects and to judge its orientation. The original games didn’t have this, in fact they faked it. The towers for example in the first arcade game are really 2D. You never see the back sides of the towers.

That X-Wing looks awesome! I do think the detail needs to be brought down a notch though. It looks too good.
The Y-Wing looks perfect for the game.
Oh…and thanks for the pics!
No problem
Im going to use these models as place holders for now, and reduce the polys and recolour them towards the end of development. I’ve been working on the editor for the first level and its coming along nicely. Everything is drag and drop almost, and I’m please with the results so far. The easier I make it to edit the flight paths etc should hopefully mean I will have more time to get some really nice cinematic effects, and make it more realistic.
Looks awesome.. but I do tend to agree the X-wing looks a bit “too” nice..
Can’t wait to run this in my scratch built SW cockpit cab.. (see website link)

Models look great…I think the level of detail is great on the X-wing, no need to lower it in my opinion.
